Dear Mr. Krentz,

Thanks for the food donation on Containers Numbers CAXU 982885-4 and  CARU961289-3 send through Mr. George Bannerman of Ministerial Development and Relief Programme (MDRP).

The food has been recieved and had been distributed to the Buduburam refugee camp where 32,000-46,000 Liberian and Ivorian refugees are situated.

Without your food shipments and the CFFC ministry, millions of children, women, and men across the African continent would not have the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD. I want to thank you for your food donation program, this has brought hope and life for so many vulnerable and needy people.

I am writing to you because you have done so much and has save more lives than you can imagine. Please Mr. Krentz never gave up on us, if for some reason you gave up on us thousands of lives will be lost in the Catholic community of Breman Essiam and the lives of so many at-risk people in the Liberian refugees in Ghana and the recent inflow of Ivorian refugees into Ghana. I know it is somtimes tough to raise the needed funds but GOD who knows the need will help you and provide you with the much needed funds to save these vulnerable lives.

There is an urgent need all across the vast African continent. Drought, disease, poverty, and civil conflict are devastating communities. There are more than three million refugees in Africa who have been forced to flee their native countries, and 10 million people have been displaced within the boundaries of their homelands. This includes the Liberian refugees whom you are already helping and whom we are appealling to you not to stop helping.  Your food is the only source of food in the camp.  Two commited suicide according to their leadership because of stress.

“The deaths in the camp have been increasing by the day.  Three died last two weeks and two last two days due to hunger.  These deaths could be avoided and are very painful and a shock, because we are doing all we can to provide food to every refugee in the camp, however small the food may be, it may save lives". Sister Frances Daye (Refugee Women Head)

There are many sad incidents happening in the camp for that reason we are appealing to you not to put an end to your shipments through Ministerial Development and Relief Programme.  Mr. George Bannerman has been putting prayer request for you and CFFC to many churches in the country, asking the Lord grant you long live and financial blessings to you and CFFC so that you can continue your shipments to many needy in the world.

It is no exaggeration to say that, without timely intervention by you, many of these Liberian refugees, including hundreds of thousands of children, will remain at risk, and may die, and with them the hopes of their families, communities, and nations. This is our greatest challenge and the focus of our most important endeavors.

I am reminded of Christ’s compelling words in Matthew: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:35, 36, NIV).

Brother Krentz I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again and may the Lord GOD almighty bless you. We please need more food in the Liberian Refugee Camp in Ghana, and the Catholic community of Breman Esiam. Your continuance support is very critical.

Thank you and may the Lord continue to bless you, CFFC, your family and home.  Hope to hear from you sooner.

Many regards,

Fr. John Arhin, Parish Priest
