WHO WE ARE

  1. Our MISSION is to help the suffering and starving children of the world by raising funds to purchase food for the hungry in developing or disaster stricken countries.  We issue tax receipts for cash donations and "gifts in kind" tax receipts for donated materials.
    Notre MISSION est de venir en aide aux enfants de pays en développement ou sinistrés qui souffrent de maladie ou de faim et cela par le prélèvement de fonds pour acheter de la nourriture pour les affamés.

  2. We are a NON-DENOMINATIONAL 100% VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION (no one in our organization is paid for their work).
    Nous sommes un organisme non confessionnel qui opère uniquement avec des bénévoles ( personne dans l'organisation n'est payé pour son travail).

  3. With the exception of approximately $4,500/yr. for overhead (utilities, insurance etc.) 100% of donations received are used to buy food or pay the cost of shipping.
    Autre que les dépenses générales (utilités, assurance, etc.) qui touchent approximativement 4 500$ chaque année, tous les dons reçus servent à l'achat et à l'expédition de nourriture.

WHAT WE DO

The purpose of Canadian Food for Children is to raise funds, purchase food, and gather goods for the hungry in developing countries.

    • Shipments from Vancouver
    The B.C. Division of Canadian Food for Children has shipped from Vancouver to Haiti, Philippines, Kenya, Congo, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Romania, Ukraine, and Nicaragua.
     

    PAYS RECEVANT NOTRE AIDE

    La "B.C. Division of Canadian Food for Children" (Division de manger canadien pour enfants, de la Colombie-Britannique) a expédié des effets de Vancouver au Haïti, aux Philippines, au Kenya, au Congo, en Côte d'Ivoire, au Soudan, en Roumanie, en Ukraine, et au Nicaragua. 

    • Shipments to Toronto
    All our other containers have been shipped to the Canadian Food for Children consolidated warehouse in Toronto. These 53 foot containers are shipped from the Toronto warehouse to such countries as Angola, Columbia, Dominica, El Salvador, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Sierra Leone, St. Lucia, Tanzania, Trinidad, and Zambia.

  3. Accountability -
    • Accountability is carefully monitored and documented.  It is of utmost importance that those in need receive the shipments of food and goods. 
    • To ensure that the assistance provided reaches the intended recipients, the receipt of all shipments is confirmed by organizations on the ground in the recipient country by means of letter, email and/or pictures.
    • When we collaborate with other registered charities similar to ourselves, direct contact is with the collaborating charities who confirm needs and receipt of goods via email and occasionally with pictures.
    • Whenever our containers go to the consolidated warehouse in Toronto and on to developing countries, there is a known contact who confirms receipt of the shipment and also sends pictures.
